Tissue
Tissue are group to cell that have similar structure and act to perform a specific function.
Histology- It is a branch of medical science that deals with study of tissue is known as histology.
There are four type of tissue-
- Epithelial Tissue
- Connective Tissue
- Muscular Tissue
- Neural Tissue
Epithelial Tissue –
Epithelial tissue are most of found in covering of the body lining, cavity, hollow organs, tube and it is also found in gland.
.The cell are very closely packed and the intercellular substance which is known as matrix found in minimum.
the cell usually like a basement membrane. basement membrane act as a selective permeable membrane.
Epithelial tissue has nerve supply but no blood supply.
Functions of epithelial tissue
protection- Act as a first line defense
Absorption- epithelial lining of the digestive track absorb the nutrient and water.
secretion – secret enzyme. mucus, hormone, sweat
Sensation- Epithelial tissue of nose, eye, ear, tongue has sensory receptors
Simple Epithelial tissue –
– single layer of identical cell
– It is usually an absorbtion and secreatiory surface
– It is divided into four types are named according their function.
simple epithelium layer are divided into four types –
1. Simple squamous epithelium
2. simple cuboidal epithelium
3. simple columnar epithelium
4. simple ciliated epithelium
