Connective Tissue
-Connective tissue is the most abundant tissue in the body.
-Connective tissue are named because of their special function of linking and supporting other tissue and organ of the body.
-the connective tissue cell care widely separated from each other than in epithelial tissue and intercellular substance (matrix) is present in large amount.
-they are originating from mesodermal.
=Component of connective tissue
- cell
- elastin & collagen fiber
- ground substance
1.Cell- the different type of involve in connective tissue. Ex.-fibroblast, fat cell, macrophages, plasment cell, leukocytes
Fibroblast- Fibroblast are large flat cell with irregular process. they produce collagen and elastic fiber and a extra cellular martin. Fibra blast are active role in tissue repair. it formed a granulation tissue.
2. Fat cells- it is also known as adipocytes. it is most abundant in adipose tissue. shape according to the amount of fat they contain.
3. Macrophages – there are irregular shape cell.
some cell are fined in connective tissue and some cell are motile.
They are an important prat of the body defense and digestion cell debris, bacteria other foreign body like as dust cell present in lungs, puffer cell present in liver, monocytes present in blood, glacial cell present in brain.
4. Mast Cell-
These cell are similar to philosophic, leukocytes.
they are found in loose connective tissue and under the fibrous capsule of some organ like as live, spleen
they contain heparin and histamine.
Which release when the cells are damage and injured.
Heparin is a anticoagulant
Histamine it produce allergic,hypersensitivity
5. Plasma cell-
These develop form a B-lymphocytes it is type of WBC.
they synthesis and secrete specific antibody into blood and lymph.
leukocytes – WBC are normally found in small number in breathy connective tissue but neutrophil migrate in significance number during inflation it is play an important role in tissue defense.
Fibers are two types –
- collagen fiber
- elastic fiber
Collagen Fiber – it a thick fiber present in bundle it provides strength & rigidity.
elastic fiber – It is a thin and present in branches. It helps in elasticity due to presence of elastic fiber.
Connective tissue are divided into three types –
1. loose connective tissue
2. Dense connective tissue
3. Specialized connective tissue
Loose Connective Tissue –
In this tissue cells and fibers are arranged in loosely that why it is known as loose connective tissue. It is further subdivided into two types
-Areolar tissue
-Adipose tissue
Adipose Tissue – It is most generalist type of connective tissue. The matrix is semi-solid with many fibroblast and some fat cells, mast cell, macrophages widely separated collagen and elastic fiber
it provide elasticity and strength.
it found in almost every part of the body like as under the skin, between muscle, blood vessel & nurve.
Adipose tissue-
It consist of fat cells (adipocytes) containing large flat globules in a matrix of areolar tissue.
there are two types of adipose tissue –
1. white adipose tissue
2. brown fat
white adipose tissue- It is mainly present in the adult. It metabolise slowly and store calories.it act as a thermal insulator.
Brown fat – when brown tissue is metabolic is produce less energy and more heat. it is present in new born baby. it is present in sub-mutinous layer deep in skin around heart and kidney. it prevent heat loss. it prevent underline structure.
